Home Information Packs (HIPs)

A Home Information Pack (HIP) is required for the sale of most residential properties in England and Wales. The HIP is a set of documents that provides the buyer with key information on the property and must be provided by the seller or the seller's agent on request. As of the 6th April 2009 it became a legal requirement that a property cannot be marketed for sale without a HIP.
